Preschool (Ages 4-5) through 6th grade.
The children’s classes are taught by Sensei Sherry Howe. Sherry is a 6th degree black belt and licensed family counselor. Three levels of karate classes are offered for children. The classes for children in grades 1 through 6 are divided into two kindergarten. This class is called “Karate Moves”. Parents may participate along with their children in the karate Moves Class. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Class length is 30 minutes
Low Rank Class
This class is for beginners and covers the basics of stances, hand defends, kicking and punching skills. The emphasis will be on developing self discipline, respect for others and using karate only for self defense. All 1st through 6th graders must start in this class and will be moved to the high rank class when the instructor feels they are ready, Wear loose, comfortable clothing until you have earned your uniform. Class length is 1 hour.
High Rank Class
This class builds on past skills to include self defense techniques, kata, weaponry, falling and take downs, all ranks up to black belt may be earned.
Uniforms
Students will contract with their parents for cost of the uniforms during the class that they are in. Your instructor will have on uniforms.
