EVERY KID SPORTS PROGRAM

Don't let program costs stop you from participating,
with The Every Kid Sports Pass we have assistance available upon qualification.

After you’ve checked your eligibility for the Every Kid Sports Pass, carefully apply and submit an application. Within 7-10 business days, our team will let you know if your application has been approved. This communication will be sent to the email used in your application. The approval email will provide instructions on how to access your funds. Once you access your funds, use them to help pay your youth sports registration fees!

The Ashland YMCA is proud to partner with NFL Flag to provide flag football for boys & girls K through 6th grade. Practices can start the first week of August! 1st game will be played on August 26th.  Games are played on Saturday mornings starting at 9 am. Practice days vary based on the coach's availability. Teamwork, fundamentals, and having fun are all points of emphasis we teach when learning football through the flag football model. October 14th will be our Playoff games that will be played Under the Lights at Ashland University (Jack Miller Stadium).  Each participant will receive a reversible NFL jersey + NFL flags to keep.

        Little Blitz Flag Football (3-4 Year Old's)         

***REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 1ST***

3 and 4-year-old Little Blitz is perfect for boys and girls and is a great way to introduce them to the game of flag football. They will learn how to snap, handoff, and carry the ball. What direction to run, pull flags, play as a team and so much more.

Flag Football is quickly becoming the fastest-growing youth sport in the country. This new program will be great for first-time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football.

SEASON DETAILS:
-6 Week Season; No playoffs!
-Practices:1x weekly practice (45-60 mins).
-Practice times will be determined by your child's coach and will be set to begin 2-3 weeks prior to the first game.
-Each participant makes a team.
-Each participant will receive a custom Ashland YMCA Little Blitz t-shirt

Looking to get your little one introduced to soccer early? Why wait? Little Kickers is a NEW developmental league for boys and girls ages 3-5. Our coaches will help by teaching the basic fundamentals of soccer, teamwork, and overall fun. Each child will receive a team shirt. Each team will practice 1x per week, typically 45 minutes long.  

If you have any interest in volunteer coaching one of the Little Kicker teams, please fill out the information attached to the registration information online.

The Ashland Family YMCA is proud to be a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers Jr Cavs. Youth Program. This league focuses on the fundamentals of the game and helps promote youth development and character-building on and off the court. 

LEARN & PLAY BASKETBALL 

***Winter I Session***

3 Year Olds-Pre-K

K-2nd Grade

3rd-5th Grade

6th-8th Grade 

This program is called 'Learn & Play. Each week your child will learn specific skills and fundamentals and building blocks that will help their game. Half of the time spent will be individual fundamental training and the other half will consist of different games and competitions. (1X1, 2X2, 3X3, SKILL GAMES) AND 5X5 PLAY

 

 

Skills & Drills Volleyball 

** Spring Session Starts Saturday, April 22nd. Don't miss out!***

Skills and Drills is a set of multiple technique classes held on Saturdays for six weeks that teach the important skills that every player needs to know in order to effectively play volleyball.

Are you looking to become better at volleyball, but have little experience and do not know where to start? Offered for beginners, intermediate, and advanced.

Fall, Winter, and Spring I:

Volleyball is open to boys and girls in grades 3rd-6th. Our program will provide drills and develop volleyball fundamentals as well as actual game experience.

Spring Softball Training 

Spring I: Saturday, April 22nd-May 13th

Softball Indoor Training is offered this Spring for girls ages 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. This training focuses on the fundamentals such as hitting, catching, fielding, and other skills. Training is 90 minutes on Saturdays for four weeks.

Registration Information: The registration deadline will be Friday. April 21st.

There is a max of 20 participants per session.

Other Equipment: Please have players bring a glove, bat, and a water bottle. Tennis shoes must be worn.

Youth Baseball Training (Grades 1st-6th)

Baseball Indoor Training is offered this Spring for boys in Grades 1st-6th. This training focuses on the fundamentals such as hitting, catching, fielding, and other skills. Training is 60 minutes on Mondays for six weeks.

Week 2: Monday, May 1st
Week 3: Monday, May 8th
Week 4: Monday, May 15th
Week 5: Monday, May 22nd
Week 6: Monday, May 29th

 

Registration Information: The registration deadline will be Sunday, April 23rd.

Track & Field Meet Schedule  

Summer I: June 6th - July 14th 

For Boys & Girls Ages 4-18 Years Old 

Member Cost: $85      Community Cost: $115

This Track and Field program is for BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE, and ADVANCED athletes. Track & Field is a great way to get your child outside and stay active and have fun! This program runs for 6 weeks with practices being twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am-11 am.
Participants will be introduced to the following events: sprints, long distances, hurdles, and relays. Also offered will be field events such as; long jump, softball throw, and discus.

This program will give kids the opportunity to compete in track meets with various YMCAs. (Mansfield YMCA, Galion YMCA, Fremont YMCA, and others). Track Uniform is included with the registration fee. All practices will be held at Ashland High School Community Stadium on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 am to 11 am. Beginners will be taught the fundamentals of track and field and how to progress effectively. Intermediate and Advanced athletes will be taught how to strengthen their bodies and take their track and field skills to the next level.

**This season, the Ashland YMCA Track team will be hosting a track meet on Saturday, July 15th! This meet will be hosted at the Ashland High School Community Stadium. We are super excited and looking forward to it.

 Martial Arts (Runs Every Session) 

Karate Moves (ages 4-5) 

Member: $35   Non-Member: $70

Children develop respectful behavior and basic karate hand and foot techniques. Optional parent participation is encouraged to support a shy child.

 

Low-Rank Kids Karate (1st-7th Grade)

Member: $45   Non-Member: $90

This class will teach basic karate stances, hand defense, kicking, punching, sparing, and Bo Staff, emphasizing self-discipline, respect for others, and karate for self-defense only. Students with the proper rank and maturity refine their skills and develop a deeper understanding of karate while preparing for adult classes.

 

High-Rank Class (Grades 1st-7th)

Member: $45   Non-Member: $90

Students with the proper rank and maturity refine their skills and develop a deeper understanding of karate while preparing for adult classes.

 

Adult Karate Class (Ages 12 and up) 

Member: $50   Non-Member: $100

Training includes stances, punching, kicking, blocking, breathing, katas self-defense, and body conditioning. As students progress, weaponry and advanced techniques are added. All grades below the black belt and black-belt degrees can be earned. Promotional certification seminars for degree advancement are available. The cost of each certificate is $35.00 with the exception of black belts.
