What is a PERSONAL TRAINER?
A personal trainer is an individual who has earned a certification that demonstrates they have achieved a level of competency for creating and delivering safe and effective programs for apparently healthy individuals and groups or those with medical clearance to exercise. They motivate clients by collaborating to set goals, providing meaningful feedback, and by being a reliable source for accountability. Trainers also conduct a variety of assessments that assist in developing customized programs that are safe and goal-oriented. These assessments evaluate one's posture, movement, flexibility, balance, core function, and cardiorespiratory fitness. Biometric screenings are also conducted to measure blood pressure, heart rate, and body composition. The results of these assessments and screenings are then used to design safe and effective programming that is customized to the needs and goals of the client.
